An Indonesian instant noodle brand, Indomie, has been banned in Taiwan due to the presence of a banned food additive. The banned additive, lard-based food flavoring, was detected in Indomie’s Mi Goreng Fried Noodles, which prompted the ban. Taiwan’s Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has stated that the additive is not permitted for use in food products due to health concerns. The import and sale of the affected Indomie variant have been halted, and authorities are urging consumers not to consume the product.
